Aryans Group of Institutes (AGOI) organized a cultural extravaganza “Roshaan” at the Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh today. Prof. R. C. Sobti, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. While Dr. J. Sadakkadulla, Regional Director, RBI, Chandigarh & Sh. Satish Goel, GM, Bank of India were the guests of honour; Sh. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function. It was the first Annual Prize Distribution function of Aryans Group which was established in August 2007.
Students of Aryans Group presented a cultural programme which included bhangra, giddha, group dances, skits, mime, choreography, folk dance, fashion show, solo songs, solo dance, and guitar playing etc. As many as 78 students were honoured for their achievements in academics, sports, cultural & extracurricular activities. While Swati Singla of MBA 2nd year was adjudged the best student, Varinder of MBA 1st year was declared the Best Athlete of the year.
The event commenced on a spiritual note with Saraswati Vandana by Sapna and group. While, a Himachali “Natti” under the leadership of Ghanshyam enthralled the audience, Rajasthani dance by Sarita and group brought the audience onto their heels. Hilarious plays “Slumdog” by Ghanshyam & group, “Media ka Dhamaal” by Ravinder & group and “Baabe” by Raj & group brought the audience into peels of laughter.
On the other hand, Punjabi group dance “Mahiya” by Vandana & group, “Dandiya” by Om Singh & group, “Giddha” by Manveer & group and “Mahi” Dance by Jagpreet & others brought the audience to their toes. A choreography depicting College Life by Ayush, Davinder & others made remember all present the freshness of college life. A well-choreographed fashion show by Vineet depicted the students in various colorful and magnificent outfits.
Also, present on the occasion were Prof. S. P. Singh, Mentor; Prof. K. K. Mangla, Director; Prof. D. C. Kataria, Vice- Chairman; Mrs. Rajni Kataria, Cashier; Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kataria, Principal; Mr. R. K. Jain, Chief Manager, Bank of India; Mr. Gaurav Goel; Mr. J. C. Nagpal, eminent social worker , and many others.
