Students and Staff of Aryans Institute of Nursing today came forward to celebrate world Friendship Day by organizing an awareness rally in nearby villages. The drive aimed to impart education and awareness about general health and wellness giving emphasis on the prevention of diabetes, cancer, heart disease and obesity and Stress management. Prof. B.S Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group inaugurated the awareness drive.
Prof B.S Sidhu congratulated and praised this unique idea of the students to spread harmony and love among the people of nearby villages by organizing awareness rally. While motivating the students he further said that the drive will mobilize the youth of the periphery to come forward for the cause of society on friendship day.
Students carried placards with messages on the health hazards of smoking and alcohol consumption. They also distributed leaflets on causes and symptoms of diabetes, cancer, obesity, heart diseases, hypertension etc. Students made them aware about easy ways to stay away from these diseases just by stress management, regular exercise, good eating habits and living with harmony and mutual cooperation.
Sandeep Kaur, 1st year nursing Student at Aryans Group while sharing her views said that “Friendship day is not just about fun. The youth should come forward for a social cause and make friends with those who are in need. I am really happy today as I found an opportunity to do something for the people who could not avail regular medical services regularly.
