As a paragon of developing a humanistic society, GNM and ANM students of Aryans Institute of Nursing, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh visited an old age home- Kartar Aasra Trust at Chandigarh. Later the students also visited Verka Milk Plant in Industrial Area, Chandigarh.
Mr. Kartar of the old-age home welcomed the students and enlightened them about various problems being faced by the elderly because of the weakened socio-cultural fabric. They learned about geriatric age conditions, disease conditions etc of old age.
Mr Kartar spoke about the proliferation of issues pertaining to the age, which were often overlooked. The students pledged to work for educating society about the problems and needs of senior citizens.
In Verka milk plant students learned about ice stock and the process of making ice creams. Mr. Rohit, Verka Plant guided the students about manufacturing process and methods being adopted in the plant for better yield.
Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh organized a workshop on Alternative Dispute Resolution: Role of Court and Arbitration. Advocate Sapna Arora, winner of National & International Moot Courts and enrolled advocate at Delhi Bar Association was the keynote speaker on the occasion. Prof B.S Sidhu, Director, Aryans Group presided over the session.
Sapna Arora discussed various concepts like the importance of Preamble to The Indian Constitution, who is a Socialist, Sovereign, Secular, Republic, Democratic and what constitutes the Justice, Liberty, Equality, Fraternity and Integrity.
Advocate Arora further trained the students on the strategies on how to resolve the dispute, methods to be adopted whether judicial or extrajudicial inside the court or outside the court. She also made the students aware of hierarchy criminal and civil courts and an emerging trend of resolving the dispute.
B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture and Diploma (Agriculture) students of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh were taken to National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal for giving exposure to Dairy Production, processing, techniques of artificial insemination, Pasteurisation, formation of various dairy products etc.
The students learnt the processing and packaging of various dairy products like cheese, butter, khoya and condensed milk etc. They also visited cattle yard to know about various breeds like Karan swiss, Karan freeze, Gir etc along with buffalo clones developed at NDRI, Karnal.
Mr. Rakesh, RA while interacting with the students briefed them the process of sensors, controlling animals diet and automatic milking process through machines, different adulterants and antibiotic test etc.
Ms Dheeraj Mehta, HoD, Agriculture Department said that beyond the academics, the industrial visit has provided a practical perspective to the students. The visit was an enriching experience for the students in getting live exposure of how a dairy firm actually functions along with plethora of similar information.
B. Pharmacy and D. Pharmacy students of Aryans College of Pharmacy, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh were recently taken to an industrial visit to Interstellar Testing Centre (ITC) Private Limited, Panchkula. The visit aimed to understand the technologies & procedures used in Industry, thus providing a practical edge.
Dr. Ajay Kumar Chief Analytical Officer and Dr. Rohit Kumar Nayak, Head Quality Assurance (QA) discussed various aspects of testing and assurance in the fields of Drugs, Food & Chemicals, Ayurvedic, Microbiological, Environment (Air, Water & Soil), Building Materials etc.
Dr. Ajay Kumar interacted with the students and shared his views about the testing parameters,quality control and quality assurance aspects of the Pharma industry.
Dr. Rohit Kumar Nayak giving details said that the lab provides a systemic approach to support its customer’s Quality Assurance efforts in each of the areas of their operation including R&D, raw materials, manufacturing, finished products, process improvement, distribution and retail channels.
Students were well informed about the working conditions, do’s and do not’s, lab ethics, precautions etc to be taken in the Pharma Industries.
As a part of the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ an awareness rally was taken out by the GNM and ANM students of Aryans Institute of Nursing, Rajpura Near Chandigarh in the Jansua Village.
Students and staff members participated in the march to create awareness cleanliness among local people and to imbibe them in our day to day life. The mission includes clean College campus, clean surroundings and play area, pure drinking water facilities, safe and clean food and personal hygiene.
The students led by the teachers carried placards displaying messages to sensitize people about cleanliness. Volunteers were heard shouting slogans to address the rural people on general issues.
Faculty members stressed that there is need to aware the children about maintaining proper sanitation and hygiene as they are future of the nation. They added that such kind activities shall be organized so that more and more people can be aware about the importance of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
