Aryans College of Engineering celebrates Engineer’s Day

Aryans College of Engineering, Chandigarh today celebrated Engineer’s Day at its campus. A seminar on “Basics of Telecommunication” was organized in which Professor of Electronics & Communication from Thapar University, Dr. Rajesh Khanna was the Chief Guest & Key Note speaker.

aryans-college-of-engineering-celebrates-engineers-dayDr. Rajesh Khanna covered all the aspects of communication system including Transmitter, transmission channel, Receiver, coding, decoding, modulation, demodulation, Radio communication, Cables, One way and Two Way communication etc.

The students and staff of Aryans organized various programmes to discuss the importance and works of the engineers in today’s era. Paper presentation, word hunt and quiz were also organized on the occasion.

Prof. B.S. Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group addressed the participants, including the faculty members and the students and urged them to open a new chapter in the life of engineers with creativity.

Sidhu further spoke on advancements of engineering. He spoke about the theme of Engineers Day, showing concerns of engineers for the safety of mankind against disasters, both natural and manmade.

Sidhu further said that engineers operate at the interface between science and society. He further said that students involved in Engineers Day will be inspired by the ever-growing field of engineering.

It is to be mentioned that to identify the great works done by our hard working engineers, each year 15th September is celebrated as Engineers’ Day marking the birth day of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.

Exercise, Meditation, Proper Sleep, Socialization keeps Minds Healthy:-Experts

A two days workshop on overall Personality Development including Communication skills, soft skills, success, happiness, etc was organized by Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh at its campus. Marital Counselor and Gemologist, Col. Gursewak Singh was the Key Note Speaker on the occasion. Prof. B.S Sidhu, Registrar and Ms Sukhaman Bath, Coordinator also spoke on the occasion.exercise-meditation-proper-sleep-socialization-keeps-minds-healthy-experts

Col. Gursewak Singh covered all the aspects related to personality traits, social graces, communication, language, personal habits, interpersonal skills, managing people, leadership, etc. The workshop was extremely participative and helped students tremendously in honing up their soft skills.

Singh inspired students through a special Personality Development “BE AND MAKE”. While delivering the talk he beautifully explained all the aspects related to “Human Mind”. He said first we have to understand the theory of the human mind: What is human mind including Conscious and Sub-conscious mind? How it functions in conjunctions with our brain? How we can use it to enhance our personality to achieve success in life and attain peace of mind.

He further added that physical exercise, meditation, plenty of sleep and socialization are some steps to keep our mind healthy. He also told that Alcohol and other drugs can kill brain cells. On other hand, Caffeine creates a dependence on a chemical that can otherwise be generated naturally.

After the lecture, a Questions/Answers round was also held. Col. Gursewak Singh made all the queries of the audience clear regarding various problems and issues related to Mind.

Punjabi University, Patiala allots Youth Festival to Aryans

Golden Jubliee of Annual Youth Festival of Punjabi University, Patiala-Fatehgarh zone would be hosted at Aryans Group of Colleges, Banur, Near Chandigarh. Punjabi University has allotted its Youth Festival of session 2016-17 to Aryans Group to be held on 25-26- 27th September at Aryans Campus.

1st joint meeting of this youth festival was held at Aryans campus in which representatives of around 35 colleges participated. Dr. Gursewak Singh Lambi, Director, Youth Welfare Department, Punjabi University, Patiala presided over the meeting.

punjabi-university-patiala-allots-youth-festival-to-aryansDr. Gursewak Singh Lambi while peaking on the occasion said that Aryans has achieved many milestones in the field of cultural activities in last 9 years due to the reason that Punjabi University has decided to give 2016 youth festival to Aryans in which around 40 colleges of Fatehgarh Zone would participate in various cultural activities.

Lambi further said that this year the fest will enter into its 50th edition. Day-1 would include Giddha, Classical Dance, Folk Song, Orchestra, Gazal, Painting, Rangoli, Photography etc. Day-2 activities would include Natak, Mimicry, Weston items, Poster making, Cartooning etc and Bhangra, Mime, Skits would be the main attractions for 3rd day.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges said that such festivals prove helpful in the development of language, literature & culture and give a hilarious boost to student activities.

“To add more colours, the youth fest would also be followed by Aryans Tech Fest in which more than 50 schools/Colleges and companies would display their innovative projects” Kataria added. Kataria further added that Agro fest, Aero Fest, Science Fest, Food Fest, Robo Fest, IT Fest, Industrial Training Fest, Solar Fest etc would attract crowd towards themselves.

On Dr. Kalam’s 1st Death Anniversary Aryans organizes a declamation contest

On the 1st Death Anniversary of Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh organized a declamation contest on Kalam’s incomplete last lecture “Creating Livable Planet Earth” at its campus. Hundreds of students of Aryans Group participated in the function.

Prof. B.S Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group while speaking on the occasion said that Aryans has been enlightened with the thoughts of Dr Kalam and the function today was a small effort to spread the message of Dr. Kalam through the youth of its College.

Sidhu further said that to support the mission of Dr. Kalam Aryans has released the list of hundreds of needy and deserving students of various states including Bihar, Patna, North East, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab etc who have been selected under “Dr. Kalam Memorial Reignited Scholarship Scheme” which was launched in the memory of Kalam by Srijan Pal Singh, Co-Author to Late Dr. Kalam for Aryans Group.

It is to be mentioned that Dr. Kalam’s Death Anniversary falls on 27th July.

Aryans Group organizes Workshop on “Employability Skills through Life Skill Approaches”

A two days workshop on “Employability Skills through Life Skill Approaches” today concluded at Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh. A number of Aryans students from different states of India attended this workshop. The workshop was organized by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute for Youth Development (RGNIYD), Regional Center, Chandigarh.

Aryans Group organizes Workshop on Employability Skills through Life Skill ApproachesThe workshop aimed to impart Leadership and Team building qualities in the Youth as the unemployment rate amongst the educated youth is reportedly increasing with the increase in their education level. Today there has been growing recognition of the important role which young people play in Nation building.

Young people continue to represent the hope of their societies. The goal of this workshop is to produce a cadre of Trainers to instill in Youth the Employability Skills through Life Skills approaches.

Mr. Vishav Thakur, Program Coordinator RGNIYD, guided participants through various indoor exercises, presentations, and team building games to gain more confidence in their skills and strengths and to overcome barriers to employment. These activities lead to help youth to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge in order to participate in the current and future labor market.

The main focus of this workshop is to increase the level of awareness and understanding of context, culture, identity and diversity while dealing with the issues of unemployment.

The participants enjoyed learning through these activities as how to develop own self through life skills to gain knowledge of Time Management, Decision Making, Responsibility Handling, Interview Preparations etc.

On the opening address Prof. B.S. Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans emphasized the need of organizing such Workshops and Seminars as an additional Institutional Social Responsibility to prepare the Youth for a gainful Employment apart from the regular Academics.

Mr. Sanjeev Bhardwaj, Director Corporate Relations thanked Mr. Stanzin Dawa, Regional Director and the Team from Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Chandigarh and assured to carry forward the process of Youth Development for the times to come at Aryans. The participants were also distributed Certificates and appreciations on successful completion of Workshop.
