Aryans Group organizes a seminar on “Scope of Civil Engineering in JK” at Srinagar

Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura near Chandigarh today organized a national seminar on “Scope of civil engineering in JK” at Hotel Lala Rukh, near Lal Chowk, Srinagar. Dr. Syed Sajjad Qadri, KAS, ADM, Srinagar was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function.

Er. Shaista Vaseem, Inch. HOD, SSM College of Engineering & Technology, Baramulla; Er. Umar Salam, Inch. HOD, Govt. Polytechnic College, Budgam; Er. Asif, Research Scholar, NIT, Srinagar; Er. Muzmil, Assistant Professor, SSM College of Engineering & Technology, Baramulla; Er. Rayees Ahmad, Asst. Prof, Civil Engg; Er. Farooq Ahmad, Asst. Prof, Civil Engg; Er. Muddasir Ahmad, Asst. Prof, Civil Engg etc  were the speakers on the occasion.

Dr. Syed Sajjad Qadri while applauding the initiative of Aryans for organizing the seminar said that the seminar would motivate more students of JK to opt for the branch of Civil Engineering by enlightening the students about the role of Civil Engineering in the development of the Nation.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group while thanking all the speakers said that civil engineering has emerged as the most leading branch among the students of JK. Kataria added that outside Kashmir and near Chandigarh Aryans has become the hub of JK students in which most of the students are studying in Civil Engineering. He added that the interest and innovations of Aryans JK students in Civil engineering has done wonders in last 8-9 years.

Er. Shaista Vaseem while speaking said that Civil engineering is the oldest branch that plays a significant role in developing the infrastructure of villages and cities of India. The dream of building a modern India can be actualized with a team of Civil Engineers who use their skills to bring modernity to a country on the whole.

Er. Umar Salam said that the trend of Civil engineering has gone up among the students not only of JK but in India also in last 2-3 years as India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and the Government has plans to spend billions of dollars on infrastructural development, be it highways, airports, ports and power plants etc hence a big force is required to implement all.

Er. Muzmil said that Civil Engineering produces over 50,000 jobs annually. With approx. 12% annual growth rate, India is expected to need around 4 million civil engineers by 2020. High growth rate, industrialization, economic boom and business friendly government policies have directly affected the demand of engineering professionals in the country.

Er. Asif while speaking said that there are jobs that involve supervision, construction, design and analyzes of private as well as public projects, such as dams, highways, canals, water sewages and bridges. The profession demands excellent skills for both administration and supervision of projects. civil engineering is one branch of engineering that has lesser unemployment rate than the other branches.

Engineers with skills like Project Management, Visual Basic (VB), Engineering Design, and Microsoft Project add value to their package. civil engineering is one branch of engineering that has lesser unemployment rate than the other branches.
