Chandigarh based Aryans Group of Colleges today launched special scheme for needy and deserving girls of JK under “Beti
Bachao , Beti Padhao”scheme. The scheme was launched today in a function held at Hotel Surya Excellency, Jammu. On the occasion, a toll-free helpline i.e 1800-30000-388 was also launched. Interested students can apply for scholarship by giving a missed call on that.
Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Dr. Anshu Kataria while addressing the press conference said, “Under this scheme 25 girls would be benefitted in which 50% of scholarship will be provided by the college and rest 50% will be financed in shape of Education Loan on Engineering and Diploma Courses.”
Kataria further added that the scheme is to enable the financially constrained girls to explore their potential in engineering and technology fields as it’s very difficult to pursue quality technical education in the Colleges of other states and that too near Chandigarh because of unaffordable expenses. This scheme would foster the desire of girls to pursue technical education, by paying lesser fees.
Director General, Aryans Group, Dr. Parveen Kataria said that each one of us has a collective responsibility towards this end; otherwise, we would not only be harming the current generation but also inviting a “terrible crisis” for the future generations. He appealed that maximum girl should take the benefit of the scheme so that dropout rate among girl students could be lowered.
Ms. Shashi, Media coordinator said that girls are doing well in sports, education, health sectors, and agriculture but the ratio is very less in technical courses due to their less interest, High fee structure. The Scheme will encourage girls to explore their potential in engineering and technology fields with lesser fee structure at Aryans.
It is to be mentioned that around 2500 students from all over the country are pursuing their higher education under various scholarship schemes provided by Aryans. Few of the schemes are Dr. Kiran Bedi scholarship, scholarship for Army personnel, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scholarship, scholarship for tribal area students.
